When you plan to visit a city, you will be naturally
interested in shopping opportunities – regular shops, supermarkets and malls.
This is completely natural, because when you return from a trip, you surely
want to please your friends and family with some nice purchases – and not only
other people, yourself, too. Coming to Prague
you will love the variety of shopping options, especially if this is your first
visit. Apart from souvenir shops selling all kinds of funny little stuff, there
are plenty of shopping centers and malls where you can buy anything you want
from keychainss to furcoats. If you enjoy discount shopping, lucky you! If you
came to the city when season discounts take place, it's a real paradise,
especially for ladies. Firstly, even when it's not a season of discounts the
prices are notably lower than in Europe or Russia. The ratio between quality
of the goods and their price is more than adequate, too.
When talking about big malls, one can't but mention Novy
Smihov (metro station Andel), Metropol (m. Zlicin), trade centers near Chodov,
Cerny Most and Flora metro stations, and Lethany, at a certain distance from
metro station Prosek. When you have a metro map in front of you, getting to
these stations is piece of cake. As soon as the doors of these centres close
behind you, you realize you absolutely need all of these things. Apart from
clothes, footwear and accessories boutiques, there are dozens of shops offering
jewelry, toys and children stuff, sports goods, crockery, and a necessary food
supermarket. All these malls are open from 10AM to 9PM,
some food stores stay open until 10PM.
Tesco malls near Zlicin and Prosek stations are open 24h. It's so enjoyable not
to choose between two items but buy all of them and get a third one as a
present because of the special offer! When you are bored with the shopping
crusades, you can enjoy a movie in the cinema or have a snack at a café or
restaurant, not getting too far away from the stores. Sounds good, doesn't it?
I can feel your eyes blazing with appetite, your hand reaching for the phone to
tell your spouse you absolutely have to visit this amazing city with unique
history, dazzling architecture and perfect shopping opportunities. You don't
need to tell about the main reason behind your wish, do you? If you are final
about your trip, we can tell you the best time for this is Christmas. The city
looks completely different, all covered with lights and resembling a fairy tale
town. Fir frees, plentiful shop windows, unearthly discounts which make you
think about apocalypse coming which makes shops get rid of their stuff right
now... You could get a pair of jeans for 300-400 Kc instead of the usual
1200-1500. It's not a joke – who makes jokes about things sacred?
It would be too much to list all the prices for all
the goods. You simply have to come and see everything with your own eyes – and
believe it's real. Having a habit to visit Prague in times of discounts is a nice habit
to have, really. It's not only highly enjoyable, but a nice contribution to the
Czech economy! Just kidding. Remember to get your 19% of the money back when
you leave by getting Tax Free documents when you buy. This works for purchases
over 2,000 Kc. The documents will explain how you get your cash back.
